Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

January 16, 2024

GRAYS POINT SOCCER CLUB NOW HAS AN AED (AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR) FOR EMERGENCY USE IN THE COMMUNITY.

An AED, is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. It can analyze the heart's rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.

POINTS TO KNOW

  • Apply DRSABCD (see attached)
  • Call '000" and request an Ambulance First and provide the location of the incident.
  • Provide CPR if required
  • Send someone to collect the AED
  • Once at the AED call one of the 4 x emergency contact numbers to get the Code to open the lock box.
  • The AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is easy to use as it speaks to you. It tells you what you can do to save the life of a person in cardiac arrest, whilst waiting for the ambulance to arrive.
  • Stay Calm - Act fast

NOTE: Our sponsor Anchorage Child Care Centre on North West Arm Road also has an AED.

GPSC would like to thank Local Resident Michael Rose from Medi-Rent for the Supply and Installation of the AED at their companys expense.

This is an invaluable asset to the community.

THE AED IS UNDER CONSTANT 24HR RECORDED SECURITY SURVEILLANCE
